Vancouver and Sunshine Coast

Our original plans had been to visit our friends in the Sunshine Coast in April. The still-present COVID unfortunately had other plans, so we had to defer our trip to June. Somehow, we still managed to bring the spring rain with us to the often sunny Sunshine Coast.

After our morning flight in on Porter, we caught the train downtown, then the bus to Horseshoe Bay, where we took the ferry to Langdale, where we were met and driven by our friends to their home in Sechelt.

For our full day in the area, we found some sun and made our way to Smuggler Cove Marine Provincial Park.

Geoff challenges his culinary skills with a wonderful vegetarian meal, and we challenged each other in a few rounds of Qwirkle accompanied by a little too much BC wine.

With an afternoon flight from Vancouver, we had a pretty early start before heading to the ferry and back to the lower mainland.

After a great long weekend, we enjoyed our widebody business class service back to Toronto, where we were scheduled to pick up two new kittens who would bring new travel constraints.
